Statistically speaking, the homeless epidemic is at a rate of decline like nothing we could ever have anticipated in the US. In the state of California alone, there are, on the average, an estimated 69,144 people experienced homeless in Los Angeles County and the number is growing daily. Of these, only 20,000 were provided with shelter or a meal on any given night.
This is a national tragedy. But it doesn’t have to be as bleak as this if Biogourmet Cares reaches as many of the homeless as we can with food and necessary supplies to aid our most vulnerable community.
The focus of Biogourmet Inc., and Biogourmet Cares is to ‘take it to the streets’ insomuch as we intend to deliver nutritious and fulfilling meals in biodegradable, self-heating containers to men, women and children within the homeless population of LA County. We will also distribute much needed backpacks. sleeping bags and all-weather tents for as many of our at-need recipients as possible on a weekly and monthly basis. Going green with our packaging is one of the many ways we intend to not only care for our homeless neighbors, but we will also be doing our part to protect the environment and work to reduce waste in our growing metropolitan city.
